NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College STUNT earns four All-American honors after the program's inaugural season, the College STUNT Coaches Association announced on Wednesday. Senior Lydia Alexander (Dayton, OH) and sophomore Erin Monnier (Indianapolis, IN) garnered First Team All-America honors while freshmen Olivia Parker (Marissa, IL) and Bella Arreola (Brookfield, IL) were named All-American Honorable Mention.
In her lone season with the Belles, Alexander would be a key factor in leading the Belles to their first Nationals appearance in their first season. Alexander would lead the team in rounds played, playing in 205 of 207 total rounds while ranking second on the team in total points scored with 111. She was a constant three quarter athlete for the Belles, playing a crucial role in every single routine as both a base and tumbler.
Monnier would step into an ever changing role for the Belles throughout the season, working as a base, flyer, and tumbler. Monnier would compete in the second most rounds on the season, competing in 204 of 207, while tying Alexander for the second most points scored. Monnier was a constant three quarter athlete for the Belles, playing crucial roles in every routine and changing positions on the regular.
Parker saw a lot of improvement throughout the season, being a consistent scoring flyer for the Belles and competing in 143 rounds and scoring 75 points. Parker would step into her role early in the season, stepping up in the Belles scrimmage against Purdue University Northwest into a starting role as a freshman. Parker would move into a three quarter athlete throughout the season, stepping into new roles as the season progressed.
Arreola would be a constant presence on the mats for the Belles as she competed in 181 rounds and scored 99 total points. Arreola would be a constant three quarter athlete for the Belles, working as both a base and tumbler, and would play a crucial role in multiple routines. She would constantly see herself being involved in new routines throughout the season and would regularly step into new roles often.
Saint Mary's saw their inaugural season close with a 10-9 overall record and a 5-0 record in conference, taking home their first Mid-America Central Conference title, leading them to the programs first Nationals appearance. The season saw the Belles win the programs first ever game on February 8 against Concordia University Chicago while also winning their first Nationals game against the Cougars on April 24.
