NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's tennis team came up short in a 6-3 non-conference match against Kalamazoo at Notre Dame's Eck Tennis Pavilion on Thursday evening.
 
 
Meredith Heckert fell in a 6-1, 6-2 match at four singles. 
Alyssa Gulli came back from a 4-3 deficit in her first set to take a 6-4 opening stanza before closing out the win with a 6-3 second-set victory at five singles. 
Lilly Chamberlin took command early en route to a 6-2, 6-3 decision at three singles. 
Lucy Chamberlin suffered a 6-0, 6-3 setback at two singles. 
Megan Davy established a big lead with a 6-0 first-set win before breaking serve in the second set for a 6-4 win and a victory at one singles. 
Kathleen McLeod came up on the short end of a 6-0, 6-2 final at six singles. 
 
 
Nicole Becker and 
Annika Smith fell in an 8-2 exhibition doubles match. Smith then had an 8-0 setback in an exhibition singles contest. 
Jane Price had an 8-4 exhibition singles win, and Becker closed out the night with an 8-3 exhibition singles match.
 
 
The Belles (2-2) begin conference competition on Saturday when they host Calvin at 1:00 p.m.
