NORMAL, Ill. - Saint Mary's College Golf took home a 14th place finish at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic after shooting a 649 a team with rounds of 321-328.

Senior Colleen Hand (Royal Oak, MI) led the team with a two total of 159 (+15) after finishing with rounds of 80-79 and placing T40. Her 79 in round two was the lowest round by a Belle on the weekend. Hand added three birdies on the weekend, including two in round one. In round one, she closed out the back nine with two birdies in four holes on the par four 15th and 18th. She also added one in round two on the par three eighth hole.

Freshman Stella Bernhardt (Ada, MI) followed behind Hand with rounds of 80-82 for an 18-over 162 and placed T57. Bernhardt added a birdie each day, on the par four 18th in round one to close out her round and on the par five third in round two. Fellow freshman Peyton Kauzlick (Noblesville, IN) followed close behind Bernhardt with a score of 163 (+19) and rounds of 80-83 to finish T62. Kauzlick would add a birdie on the par five third hole in round one to kick off her day.

Junior Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) and sophomore Nina Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) finished T74 each after totalling a 167 (+23) on the weekend. Ella Notaro tallied rounds of 83-84 while Nina Notaro added rounds of 81-86, the 81 being a new collegiate career low (surpassing her 84 at last weeks MIAA Jamboree). Ella would add a birdie on the par three fourth hole in round one while Nina tallied three birdies in round two including the par three fourth, the par four ninth, and the par four 18th.

Sophomore Kate Plessinger (Columbus, OH) rounded out the competitors for the Belles, finishing T79 after tallying a 168 (+24) with rounds of 84-84. Plessinger would also add a birdie on the par four first hole in round two.

Saint Mary's is right back in action on Tuesday as they head to Holland, MI to compete in the second MIAA Jamboree of the fall. The Belles then return to South Bend to take on The Battle at Blackthorn hosted by Bethel University on September 28-29 at Blackthorn Golf Club.
